The past year has shown many of us that there’s a lot of work to be done when it comes to fighting racism and injustice. But racism isn’t just about our words and our actions, racism is experienced as systems that perpetuate a lack of access, create barriers, and fuel mentalities that prevent all of us from engaging our best selves. This is what makes conversations with our kids and conversations within our community so challenging.

The Garrett Park PTA Diversity and Inclusion Committee present “Growing Our Kids and Our Community Through Anti-Racism Work”. On May 19th, at 7 pm ET, join Tilden Middle School and Garrett Park parent, Amber Coleman-Mortley, in a community discussion on how we not only grow ourselves and our kids in anti-racism work but collaborate to build stronger communities and community ties in the process.
